Driver Mechanic Class III - 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards

Can any of you buffs clarify something for me?


A relative of mine was killed in action with the 4 PLDG in Italy, 1945.

I have some of his records but would like to clarify exactly what vehicle (s) a "Driver Mechanic - Class III" would be qualified to drive specifically in a wheeled-reconnaissance unit like the Princess Louise Dragoon Guards?

I am working on a bio and though I have the regiment's book and a portion of his records as well as letters sent home I cannot figure out if he drove an armoured car, or carrier or what.

Much obliged if anyone can offer insight.
