In November 1944 the Manitoba Dragoons were looking for a way of being able to deliver more HE than their Stags 37mm guns could deliver. They borrowed the rails and rockets from the RCAF. Terminal results were impressive, but accuracy left something to be desired. CMHQ took up the torch in developing a more sophisticated launcher (illustrated in Service Publications "Tools of the Trade"). Details on this, and on a 4th Armoured Brigade effort, at about the same time, to convert one of their half-tracks into a sort of "Typhoon zu Fuss" will, in the fullness of time, be forthcoming in my "Secret Weapons of the Canadian Army" (see the write-up at www.servicepub.com/)

As I said, its "forthcoming" so I am afraid you will need to wait a while, as I am still researching it. Roger |

"Secret Weapons of the Canadian Army" is indeed now available. It addresses Typhoon rockets on Staghounds as well as on Halftracks.
