Default Morris-Commercial C/8P Rebuilds

Hanno, the Thread King, will no doubt post the links to past discussions about MCC rebuilds at Atherley Park in Birmingham along with C8/FWD tractors to 17-pounder tractors.

Contract V.3957 was issued 24th May 1940 for C9/B Bofors SPMs and C/8P Predictors amongst the CDSW orders. Census #s S 4550990-4551224 were the Carrier 40mm SPM and S4550755-4550989 Carrier Predictor AA no 3 SPM. However on the card is the important bit! The Precitors were converted under S.3270 to 17-pounder Tractors dated 26th November 1942! I therefore have to suggest that the rebuilds may have been a year earlier than I thought, which was previously towards the end of 1943. Or possibly authorised in November 1942 and then the work was carried out int he new year.

Well, all I do is use the search function. Could find no hits for "Atherly Park", nor for C/8P.

C8/P of course did give some hits:
Morris-Commercial C8 Gun Tractor body id please?
Morris-Commercial C8/GT at Arnhem
Anti-tank Portee rebuilds
chev portee

HTH,
Hanno
