Default More Acco Questions

Hello again all, hope I am not asking too many questions but have some more info needed on the great Acco's. Can anyone tell me if the winches fitted to the 6x6 version will fit the 4x4 version? I am also after the sides for a 4x4. and the associated fittings, I think there is 2 steel posts I suppose you would call them, one on each side to hole the sides of the tray in place and then 2 more different ones at the back.
Can anyone help me out, I have one side post one back post and three complete sides that seem to be made from Gal sheet and one that is made from steel that is pretty badly rusted.
Also can anyone tell me or give me information on how I can find the history of the trucks I have, from the chassis number or any other form of identification.

By the way the paint for the trucks is easy to get and really quite chep surprisingly, if anyone need some let me know I have all the details etc.

Thanks

Pete

I presume the paint is the same one from protec that all of the land rover guys on REMLR use? I've got a tin in my shed at the moment, I should have my S3 painted by the end of the year. Easy to paint with as well

Whats the paint known as that you guys are talking about? Is it Acrylic ? Just wondering what to ask for in my local paint shop and if it is on a data base that all shops have access to.

Protec are the current paint contractors to the Army, so this stuff is made in big batches. It's not the usual Auto Enamel made by Protec and sold by retailers. Protec are in all mainland capital cities. Contact details for Protec NSW:
PROTEC PTY LTD
AUTO & INDUSTRIAL PAINT MANUFACTURERS

MINTO 111 Airds Rd 2566
(02) 9603 5655
Fax (02) 9603 5788

HORNSBY 14 James St 2077
(02) 9477 1444
Fax (02) 9477 2844

The paint code is
"342-1166-23 Enamel-Alkyd-DPP Lustreless Camouflage Green"

It is available in 400g aerosol tins, or 1lt, 4lt and 20lt. It is current production so Protec will probably have it in stock on the shelf. Price is something like $30 for 4lts.

Protec's head office is in Adelaide, but they have branches all around the country. If you wanted someone to get some and bring it to Corowa.......?

There is a Protec distributor in Canberra so I should be fine. Is it the stuff that goes real faded looking and chalky after a couple of years? If so I'll stick with the better quality stuff i've used in the past. I was really just interested to see what others used.

This is the genuine Milspec paint, so I would rather image it is something of a quality paint. I don't know of anyone yet who has had it on a vehicle for several years.
