Default OMVA Fall Show 20 Oct 2007

The OMVA Fall Show will be held this year in Ottawa, the Nations Capital. The date is Saturday 20 October and it will be held at the Cartier Drill Hall on Laurier next to the City Hall and NDHQ. 8:00- 13:00 aprox.

This is the first time it has been held out East.
Lots of oppertunity to visit the Canadian War Museum, the Dieffenbunker-Canada's Cold War Museum, The National Aviation Musem, the National War Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Peacekeepers Memorial, Parliament Hill and the Book of Remembrance, the National Military Cemetary and more.

For those with more time to visit the National Archives are here, as well as the Swords and Ploughshares Museum and then there are sights in Kingston as well. You may want to keep the Kingston attractions for next year just in case the Fall show is held there next year.

We are looking for vendors and dsplays. tables are limited at this time. Please contact me at cmpmagazine@hotmail.com for more information.

Thanks

Eric

Default Swords & Ploughshares Museum

It's still there, but don't forget Gunner Mike (the owner) will be in darkest Africa at that time...

Default When Mike's Away

If Mike approves, and if there is a demand (more than two people), arrangements can be made to have a S&P Museum tour. Keep in mind that the main building is crammed to the rafters for winter, but there are very nice displays outside.

More to follow.

Geez, who are you, 'Robbie the Cruise Director'?

Crikey, next you'll be issuing a parallel Jess - um, I mean, Gracie's Call!

I may take the opportunity to slip into the Nation's Capital for this innagural event.

I am not sure when, as I am scheduled to blow up some stuff in Oregon that week, but we should get together if you'r up that way.

Bob/Rob/Grant and Alex - we should get together! Mary is coming for sure this time.

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge... I'll poll the Rotters to see if we want to "share" Gracies with the assembled masses...Cruise Director indeed.

I'm not sure right now, Stewart, work schedules and all that. I might be persuaded to spend Saturday afternoon/evening in Gracie's, though, if I were up there...

What's the parking situation like, if we bring our MV's?
Ferret's drink like REME, and I want to make sure it's worth the trip from Montreal, as I would drive it there.

Post OMVA FALL SHOW LOCATION MOVED

Hello Folks

BAD NEWS...We have been bumped at the last minute as the Military are using the Cartier Drill Hall.

No fear i have found a new location.

The Show is now at the Royal Canadian Legion in Kanata
70 Hines Rd Kanata 08:00- 13:00 hrs.

This is only 20 minutes from downtown.

There are three hotels in Kanata
Comfort Inn 1-800-523-8620
Kanata Holiday Inn 1-888-465-4329
Coutry Inn and Suites 1-888-201-1746

There are other hotels in Old Ottawa & Nepean to the east and Carleton Place to the west.

Contact me if you wish to have a table.

Please pass on the new location to those interested in attending.

Thanks

Eric

Default Fall show, thank you

I would like to thank the volunteers, vendors, display and MV people, pipe band and the Legion staff for all coming out and making this event better than i anticipated.

We had five vehicles, the best turn out for any fall show, however i did anticipate more.

I am hoping that next year it will be held in Kingtson or another eastern area and maybe back in Ottawa every second year.

Thanks again for the support.
Eric
