Hi Richard,
this plate is on the body but is similer with chassise plate. The chassise plate is hard to make picture. Is on the bad place. :-))) I thing it isnīt type Austin 8AP!!! AP and the number is the contract number. I never heare about the Austin 8AP. But is possible I am in mistace. This car was in RASC and after then possible in CIABG (Czechoslovakia Independent Army BriGade). It is from the end of the war in Czech Rep (Czechoslovakia) Radek |

You will find on the Austin trucks, that the Chassis number plate, is on the chassis below the steering column and also on the cab bulkhead in the engine compartment. I would guess that the car is the same. Your car is definitely an 8AP, I am at present rebuilding an engine and gearbox for one, and have a friend with a restored one.

In my country is only this one and is wery hard to find any information. On the internet is only e few information in Tilly register.
