Angry

That's very sad to hear. It's also angering. Putting the emotions aside for a minute it's also not surprising. As in all hobbies/ passions, as they become more popular and valuable there will always be those wanting to take advantage of the situation.
Reading the thread on your link I doubt the thieves would have went to all that trouble to offload it at a scrap merchant. I wouldn't be surprised if something like that turned up for sale with a new paint job and modified build number.
Let's all hope they get caught and it is returned to its rightful owner in unmolested condition.

Default Stolen Carrier

Hi All
Just to bring the details to this forum, the Carrier is #1701, a 1942 South Australian Railways manufacture LP2A.

Do we know the bloke who lost it? From the thread, I'm presuming it was pinched in QLD, albeit it could be anywhere right now.

Has anyone any pictures of 1701 is whatever state is was in at the time? Circulating those can only help.

Hi Jif
I'll PM his details. Just had another look at my database and there is a conflict of information. My second set of information is that it is a 1941 SAR LP2.
