Doesn't anybody read anything first?

Folks, you don't know HOW many people I get trying to register from (a), unacceptable locations or (b), using indecipherable aliases. Don't they read what's been posted here??!! Or do they think they can fool me??!!

Some of you may have noticed the strange usernames lingering on in the New Member section; if you click on them you may also note that they've been banned. I'll let them sit there a while until I am suitably motivated to go into the system and ban their asses the old, permanent way - in the meantime we get to watch them try to figure out why their time zone or location doesn't work, whether they've used a "name" or not..

Even those who try to fool the system but get proven to be somewhere about 2,500 miles away from where they claim to be - they don't get banned, but they don't get approved either. They just sit. And sit. And sit. Maybe they'll get a clue.

If any one of you is reading this - we want to know who you are and where you're posting from. We want to know WHY you're here. If you can't satisfy us as to all three, you're watching us, not participating. Them's the rules, and the longer this nonsense goes on, the less I'm inclined to deal with you.

If you have an issue with this, by all means write me and I'll be happy to come to an arrangement with you. The fact remains that MLU is what it is BECAUSE WE DON'T ACCEPT ANYONE WE DON'T KNOW. See the paragraph above. In the meantime, you will NOT be able to post, nor register again. If this is unsatisfactory to you, then I'm sorry, you probably don't belong here anyway. It's the way we do business here at MLU and have for 10 years now.

I know what your feeling. I am an administrator on another forum (living history group) and we eventually had to shut down and lock the registration. We had sooooo many bogus accounts set up each day that it would sometimes take an hour just to go in and delete them all and ban the email/IP addresses. We have the same approval system to go through before you can post and it was really easy to pick out the non legit ones. However it was such a daily pain because my email system would get bogged down with notices of a new member wishing approval.

I do have to say that it was fun running the various IP addresses and seeing whereabouts they were coming from. I figure I have banned various Russian/ Eastern European mobs along with a few Asian ones for good measure that are all involved in adult only websites.
