Hi there
Almost finished a Cab 12 Chevy-based 2-pounder Portee model. Started off with the Tamiya Ford FAT front end sheet metal, had to chop and channel it to the correct dimensions then graft it onto a llengthened Italeri Chev FAT chassis. The gun is the Soveriegn 2000 resin 2-pounder. ![]()

Looks very good! I always wonder, why not more such models are available "out of the box"...

Great work Steve. I can even see a Chev badge on the hood. Is this from the Eduard PE set?

Hi there
The Chevy Bowtie was cut from 5 thou styrene. After a couple of attempts I got it right. As anyone who has studied, worked on or rode in type 12 Cabs, you will know what a complex piece of kit it is. The front end sheet metal of the Tamiya kit is too wide and the floor sits too high. These two things put all the angles of the hood way out of whack. Fix 'em and you are getting there. One modeller remarked on how narrow the cab looked. I told him to go find a restored Cab 12 and sit in it. You will find out just how narrow and cramped it really is. Steve

Hi Cliff
Very nice. You really get a sense of how 'old fashioned' the Cab 11 and 12 trucks look when you build a model of one. The 'unmasked' headlights make a difference too! What did you use for the tarp?
