Hello all,
My Dad has just bought a Saladin,Which is supposed to be ex Australian Army.
What i would like to know is where the hull/vehicle number would be stamped as we cant seem to find one.

I USED TO OWN 115411 till i sold it last year.
you can if your lucky enough their will be a rolled up piece of paper in a tube on the engine near pulleys which will have all of the engine numbers & arn on it if you are lucky other wise the arn is normally center of the hull front about half a ruler length from bottom or on the rear radiator access plate.
sometime you might even find a stamping on the turret ring on left side

hope this helps i still have most of the manual in copied form if you are interested

their were only 15 Saladins were in Australian army service
i can account for 13t of them which i know of only 6 have turrets still.

Hello Brenton.
Thanks for that,
I,ll let Dad know and he can have a look.
I would be interested in a copy of the manual, let me know how much etc.
Theres no rush.
Here is a pic of it,
It was at the museum of fire a few years ago and has a horrible home made turret.

Regards
Justin.

Weren't the turrets off the Saladins utilised on the M113 FSV? Monegeeta made 15 of these, and if there were 15 Saladins, then either whole complete turrets were imported for some of the conversions, ot the Saladins with turrets in Aust today are ex-UK (or HK) imports.

Does anyone know the story?

I think that there would have been more turrets than vehicles in the army. I'm pretty sure bandiana has a couple of example (although some are training ones I think)
