Hi Rob
There are some options open to you dependent on what you're after. He was assigned a WW2 Regt'l Number attributed to the Carleton and Yorks in NB. He died in Bramalea, Ontario on September 27th, 1992 at age 75. You can ask after his service file here: http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discove...ice-files.aspx You (or anyone) can get a "redacted-for-personal-info" file from LAC for a WW2 soldier (good for proving medal entitlements) unless you can prove he's been deceased more than 20 yrs (dated newspaper Obit, grave photo, death cert. etc). If one proves that a WW2 soldier has been deceased +20years, anyone can order the un-redacted file. Not sure if the Legion's Last Post register would count though. https://legionmagazine.com/en/last-p...ntry&id=190151 I believe that the records of the C&Y are held by the 8th Hussar Museum in Sussex NB. Not sure. Please let me now if I can be of further help. regards Darrell |

Thank-you very much.
Being associated to Central Ontario may explain why some of his named kit has surfaced here. Can you please shoot me the Obit link? |

Hi Michael
I meant to say that I think his Regt'l Number starts with a G not a B. G-17954 is a Carleton and York Number and is what is on the legion page for S.J. Albert. B-17954 is 25th Fd Bty RCA No.2 District and I have no idea who's number that is. You are welcome. The link to the Legion Obit is in my previous post. If you get his file and he is from NB, let me know please. Thanks. regards Darrell Last edited by Darrell Zinck; 05-10-16 at 19:03. |

Hi,
I don't know how much this will help but I ran across this on the "Canada at War" forums.. Fairly close service number with a "B" service district depot 2. militia depot in central Ontario. http://www.canadaatwar.ca/forums/arc...php?t-782.html Jason
