Default Ontar's in WW2

Hello, all..

My great uncle Chuck Bennett fought with the Ontario Reg't in the Second World War.
Unfortunately, he passed away many years ago and all i have to remember him by are his medals, a few old pics of him in his battle dress, and some fuzzy childhood memories.
According to his medals he fought in both Italy and France/Germany, but there's certainly always more to their story than what medals and national archives tell.
My dad (a Korean War vet) says my great uncle didn't talk much about the war so i was hoping to find someone who perhaps knew and served with him who could share a story or two.
I'd be grateful for any help.

Thanks..

Gord
