Interesting read Rob, thanks for the link. I heard through the museum that this was eventually coming.
I wish they had called ahead.....I would have cut the grass around the 90mm. |

was put into this archive of Canadian Artillery survivors . I am not sure who to thank for this, but I will start with Max and Terry. Cheers Rob Fast in Manitoba.

Question for the B.C. boys: is the Ordnance QF 17Pdr still outside the Surrrey Archives building in Cloverdale?

I note it talks of a 17 pdr gun in MooseJaw. Can't say I have ever seen that gun. It is not on the base, nor is it at the Armouries.

I am not sure it is still there, but there was a 16" US Naval gun near Stanstead ,Quebec ,which was used by the old Space Research Agency ,in the 70`s I think, to test gun launched space equipment. I think I had read this was left there when the site was shut down, and may still be there. If so, this could be moved to a museum, possibly

That is kind of the nice thing about the link: It gives a lot of information including breech and carriage numbers. I know when the author started this work, he had some info which was new to the Shilo Museum, and his work also showed how a few of the "on loan" guns from Shilo had migrated to other locations without the museum knowing. It may also prevent a collector from making a local deal with a legion or village on an unwanted piece only to find out that the item actually belongs to Shlo. another large museum, or DHH.
