| carriers in the snow

I just thought I'd ask before I went out and got myself in trouble. How do carriers do in the snow? Can they make it thru the deep stuff or do they just bog down? It looks to me that they might just plow snow up in front of them until they can't push anymore? John |

Or you get a Pal to clear the snow from the track. Make sure he pays close attention to what he's doing:

You can always take some plywood and build a permanent shelter for the winter. Or if you dress warm and drive fast enough you can skim over the snow. |

Hi Tony, Great pictures of the LP 2 and crew. Imagine fixing track in those cold conditions, makes my fingers ache just thinking about it. Were they taken over here somewhere in NZ or up the Blue Mountains around your area. Thanks David...

In response to the question about the hole on the side of the carrier I think it was part of the early flamethrower conversions. I think this was the Ronson. You can see the hole and some sort of coupling for the fuel hose that ran outside the hull. Perhaps it allowed the operator to turn a valve while remaining inside the vehicle.

Jumping carriers seems to be popular in carrier testing. Colin Jones's in Australia, and this one in your pic. Jordan. Heres a Kiwi one during trials/ demo at Trentham, Courtesy of the Alexander Turnbull Library.
