How do you come up with these things!?

"Irrespective of the diet, loosing some 12 to 40 'winds' (that is, 0.5 to 2.0 litres of gas) per day is normal, and concerns should only be raised if these numbers are significantly exceeded."

Wow, 40 a day is normal? For who?

"In the middle ages, loudly breaking wind was an act of appreciation to the housewife."

Bring back the middle ages I say.

Your comments made me go back to snip and quote this bit ... was going to quote and highlight (quoted below) this when I started this thread because I remembered immediately how often you guys in here gleefully mention this particular bodily function but I thought I better not be a gal stereotyping the guys in here ... but now? After your comments and you being a guy saying bring back the middle ages? Well ... here ya go ... (I liked this bit best!!! )

There is no difference in the chemistry of male and female digestion, hence men and women emit the same amounts of gas. However, men apparently have more fun doing it.
By the way ... I found this, like I find most odd things, while looking for info about lactose intolerance ... google brought up the link and I checked it out, voila
