Eric; When they did the range clean up the four tanks were hauled away. They were brought to Montreal, and
were sent on to Wainwright in Alberta for use as hard targets. Cheers, Bill |

Eric; These were Sherman M4A2E8's. They were from a bunch bought for training after WWII in the late'40's. they were powered by twin 6-71GM diesels. The main gun was a 76mm. They were primarily used by the reserve Armour Regts, but a few were used by regular Regts in the early
'50's pending arrival of Centurion. they were withdrawn from service in the late '60's and used for hard targets on various ranges. A few were given to Militia Armouries and Legions as monuments. Cheers, Bill |
