Today I found, inserted into a copy of the G-166 ORD 9 Service Parts Catalogue several update pages including one describing the T-16 being elongated and referred to as T-16E2 beginning with Job #A-13462 and Hull #13462. The inserted pages are typewritten and undated.
Also usual term used is "T-16" rather than "T16". There is a mixture of these terms used in the Service Parts Catalogue. I haven't checked other sources like th maintenance manual to get a consensus on which is correct. Brian |

That's a Windsor Carrier, note the rivets and the cover for the steering box in the front armour.

If you look at the operators manual WC-OM2 for Windsor Carrier, these fenders and skirts are shown in photos as the Original Design.

Its the early pattern of skirt.
The vast majority of survivors seem to have the late pattern resembling those on a a MK2* Carrier. These are the ones presumably which were still in storage in large numbers at the end of the war and I can't immeadiately remember seeing a service photogragh showing one in NW Europe with the late pattern of skirt. Others may be able to produce a picture. |
