Default Toronto Scottish carrier

Found this on the LAC site today. Any idea as to what the object/attachment is just below the third chap's hand? Some sort of jack or part of the Vickers ground mount perhaps? Photo taken in Belgium, 1944.

Cheers, Dave

Default Re. Scottish Carrier

Dave - it is the jack and its mount. The Australian 2pdr and 3" Mortar Carriers had the jack mounted in the same position.
