Default ARN Information Required

Hi all - a friend of mine has bought two International ACCOs and would like to know what, if any, service they saw.

1963 4x4 Mk3 - AMF 171115 - Chassis 1505
1968 6x6 Mk4 - AMF 171638 - Chassis 1823

I'll try for information here first before I trawl the AWM. Perhaps Tim Tam you could direct me to the right volume.

Bob

Unfortunately it's not on my list of inters that I have any photos or information for, but as you have the ARN's i'll check to see if I have a photo of that entry.

Unfortunately it's not on my list of inters that I have added to the register, but i'll add them to the list so that they come up when I do get to them.

I already have the info, just need to enter it!

Bob, bith trucks will be in AWM 126-25.

A point of note, though. The Mk4 was a 4x4, while the 6x6 was an F1 or F2(aka Mk5). The actual chassis number on the chassis will clarify the situation, as these trucks will be stamped ADE4x41505 and ADE6x61823.

Ok, I now have photos of the requisite entries from the ARN books

171-115 is actually chassis 1142, so no hit there. 171-115 is a general serice Mk.3, made in 1965. It was sold off in 1987. I'll keep an eye out for chassis 1505 as I transcribe the Mk.3 records.

171-638 was chassis 1823. It originally had chassis 1807 and is a Mk.1 F1, or general service 5 ton truck. Looks like it was aso sold off in 1987

Default Any More Information?

Hi all - before I close off this research, is there any more information out there, especially overseas action?

Bob, the ARN for this vehicle has surfaced, and at this stage it is the highest Mk.3 chassis number we know to have been manafactured.

the ARN is 171-415 and it is a 1965 model. The last engine number it had was AGD282.14903, census 6069B (Truck Cargo 2 1/2 ton, GS, W/Winch). 1200x20 tyres were originally fitted and it was disposed of on the 23/10/1983. There is nothing so far to indicate any kind of overseas service.

Default Clarification

Hi Richard - we now have conflicting information about the date of manufacture, disposal and the ARN. Exactly which truck are you talking about in your last post.

Bob

BTW I missed the slab.

I was windering about that.

You see ARN 171-446 started off life with chassis 1505 and was a Truck Firefighting, 2 1/2 Ton, GS, WW, Tank & Spray. However later in life it's chassis was replaced with 564

171-415 started off with chassis 1453 and had it replaced with 1505

PS. Didn't I give you a few ration packs in 2007 as payment?

Richard - thanks for the information to date. I've printed it all off for my mate to sort out.

Re. the PS - I'm only stirring you but I don't possess any ration packs. Never mind there is always next year.
