Default creepy critters

I took this pic a few years back , during the warmer summer months , we see these monitor lizards or goanna's, regularly , they patrol the fence lines looking for bunny wabbits to eat ...

They usually run up a tree , a defence reaction , when a human approaches . Average length is well over 3 feet .

Oh my ... we have those too ... are they originally from the Land of Oz, then?

I really like the lizards ... don't care much for the snakes though

Well, Max and I wanted to stroke her, but she wasn't too pleased with that, so we stroked her with a heavy broom instead. A few times. And then again. And you should see what the ants did to her just overnight! Ant colonies from miles around were flocking in with their little ant-knives and little ant-forks and wee ant-knappies around their scrawy necks... FREE MEAL AT THE HEDGES'!!!!

Note to Yappy: DON'T...EVER...DO...THAT...AGAIN

LOL you would not like my place Jif as we have colonies of redbacks around the house and are always mindful of how we pick up that pot plant etc when we are outside. Mind you like the snake at Max's they don't live long when discovered.

Default King Parrot

Now these are nice .... not nasty . These King parrots turn up each spring ... I snapped this pic a few years ago . They seem to like the buds on this shrub .... Whatever it is ?

A flock of Gang Gang cockatoos usually attack the seed pods of the Cootamundra wattle here .... the pods are demolished in quick time .

Talking redback

Nice photo of the redback, KK!
Did you know that only the Female is harmful if it bights you. Unfortunately it is very easy to get bitten when turning one over to check it's plumbing...
Pssst... Don't tell Jiff... But when he walked through my shed, he walked through a colony of the little buggers...

Thanks HH ... Spiderman is really gonna love reading your small postscript

No ... didn't know only the female bite is harmful ... ... but that makes total sense to me. When females bite, they don't usually do it for love, they mean business
