Default Another piece of Victoria's history swept away

Another of the arches along our coast has collapsed into the sea.

See Herald-Sun article here.

At least it was nature that swept your piece of history away up here at Gympie it is called "The Local Council" and "The Local Committee of the National Trust" who normally succeed in destroying heritage values especially old buildings.

Default Knock them all down! Not worth the risk of injury!

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...rch-photo.html

Gravity must prevail. I'm all for knocking everything tall down, and filling in the deep spots all around the world. The Mount Everests and Dead Seas of the world must become more alike. Steep hills cause vehicles to roll downhill. Tall buildings interfere with birds and wind. Holes cause twisted ankles, and lurid Huckleberry Finn stories about fugitives living in caves.

The flat earth must be obeyed.

Default Hills

Steep hills also cause CMPs to change down through the gears... come to think of it sometimes even mild slopes do the same thing.

So yes, let's knock 'em down. Perhaps we should consider the use of explosives.

Blowing stuff up is always fun, especially if large quantities of beer are involved...

Default Flat

You need to live in a place like Ganmain where a street called "Hill St" can have its change in gradient be verified by 3 engineers using surveying equipment.

Default All falls down

First the twin towers, now the arch. How do we know it wasn't terrorism with an AlQueida operative in a rampant Cessna?

The name could be:
1. sarcasm
2. after a bloke named Hill
In any case 2 competent amateurs (or one crafty individual) is enough to run a rod and level. The third engineer musrt have been to overcome the incompetence of the other two or to fetch coffee.

Its what has given the Australian Workforce such a phenomenal worldwide reputation Grant. (Refer to 'four dogs' post in funnies thread)

I seem to remember that part of the Rhinoceros' Party's platform was a make-work project to raze the Rockies in order to back-fill Hudson's Bay and James Bay, thereby rendering the entire country flat and removing all geographic inhibitors to national unity. I voted for them based on that promise alone (and the free beer for life.)
