| G'day

Bonjour Benoit or G'day from Ganmain Australia!! Welcome to MLU. Ive only been on this site for a couple of weeks and already have had some fantastic help from the fellah's on this site so I'm sure any questions you have will be answered in detail!! The photo's you have sent through appear to have spectactular countryside in them. Can you tell me where they are taken?? Ive never been to Europe so would appreciate the guidance. Enjoy the site - what you put into it is what you get out of it. There are some fantastic (and very funny) people in here.

Welcome aboard.. You may enjoy some of our French Canadian web sites for our French speaking regiments.. http://www.r22er.com/ You can join us anytime...You would look great as a "Van Doo"... But the Winnipeg Rifles are a great and honourable regiment.. Here is another.. We joke sometimes about this regiment and call it !2th Canadian RUBBER BOOT COMPANY... The 12e Régiment blindé du Canada (12th Armoured Regiment of Canada) is a Canadian Forces armoured regiment based in CFB Valcartier, on the outskirts of Quebec City. The regiment has both Regular Force and Primary Reserve components. The 12e Régiment blindé du Canada's abbreviation is 12e RBC. Both the regular and militia regiments serve mainly in the armoured reconnaissance role but a squadron of tanks is now being formed out of Valcartier. But their battle honours are nothing to joke about..a great regiment..getting tanks shortly.. Battle honours The Great War: Amiens1, Sibérie 1918-19 The Second World War: Débarquement en Sicile, Grammichele, Piazza Armerina, Valguarnera, Agira, Adrano, Vallée du Troina, Sicile 1943, Termoli, Le Ravin, Ortona, Cassino II, Ligne Gustav, Vallée du Liri, Ligne Hitler, Ligne Trasimene, Arezzo, L'Avance à Florence, Monte La Pieve, Monte Spaduro, Italie 1943–1945], Apeldoorn, Nord-Ouest de L'Europe 1945 1. awarded for service of 178th (Canadien-Français) Battalion, CEF. Its origins are in The Three Rivers Regiment, a militia (Reserve Force) regiment based in Trois-Rivières, a town halfway between Montreal and Quebec City. Originally formed in 1871 as the 178th provisional battalion of Infantry and after many name changes, became the 12e Régiment blindé du Canada in 1968. This was a new Regular Force regiment which was created in Valcartier, while a militia unit was left in Trois-Rivières under the name 12e Régiment blindé du Canada (Milice). The number in the regimental title commemorates The Three Rivers Regiment's order of battle during the Second World War: 12th Canadian Armoured Regiment (The Three Rivers Regiment). The Canadian Army traditionally avoided having city or region names in the titles of its Regular Force regiments; this was likely the reason for the 1960s name change. Anyway you can get manuals for your truck from here.. http://www.dana-nield.com/d32/Defaul....com/d32/blair Here are the ones to get.. #3 300+ pages MB-C2 Maintenance Manual, for GM CMP vehicles. 15 cwt 4x2, 15 cwt. 4x4, 30 cwt 4x4, 3 ton 4x4 HU 4x4, F.A.T. 4x4. Sept. 1943 #3A 300+ pages GM Service Bulletins Updates for MB-C2 (May-November 1943) These bulletins were issued to the field maintenance shops for upgrades to the CMP vehicles. Many procedures in the bulletins and additions did not make the maintenance manuals. #5 218 pages C8A-04 CHEV. ILLUST. SPARE PARTS LIST FOR HEAVY UTILITY 4x4 C/W PERSONNEL BODY (INC. C8A-01, C8A-02, C8A-03, & C8A-04) June 1945 Contact Grant Bowker through the web site... He is the "New " Mr.Manual... I'm the old..original model.. Hi Benny, Good to see another CMP out enjoying the Normandy area,, I do like the C8 ! Attached picture of 4 CMP's taken at the Longues gun battery. First one is Jim sewell's from down under, 2 nd one is my C30 LAAT from England, I'm not sure who owned the other two, but I think they are from Holland. We drove though Port en Bassin most days during that first week in June,(mainly jeeps and GMC's), still an absolutely brilliant week. Enjoy the wonderful world of CMP collectors ! Regards Keith |
