Anyone know what CSAS or CSAS (WC) at Nanaimo BC c. 1942 or 1943 would be? I understand there was a Combined Ops school of some type there, but I am unable to make that fit the acronym. Could also be related to general infantry training that occurred there.

My uncle Verne Pope was an MP at the training base in Nanaimo. I assume this pic was taken at the base.

Interesting side note, the movie "commando" with, I think, Victor Mature was partly filmed on Hornby Island. Not far from Nanaimo during the war.
