Hello,
I have begun recently researching my family history, and was wonering if anyone on here could point me in the right direction. My Grandfather, after being wounded in the Dieppe raid, was posted as an instructor to the Brockville OTC. http://www.brockvillemuseum.com/mili...ning_camp.html There he met my Grandmother who was serving with the CWACS, eventually they married. Other than the site I posted a link to, I have been unable to find much information about the Brockville OTC, or very much at all about the CWACS other than general information. Does anyone have any advice for me? Regards, Scott |

Brockville was a massive officers training effort. The army got so big so fast, it quickly learned nobody knew what it was doing. The solution was to send all the officers to school. Gen (Retd) "Rad" Walters' views on this are in a recent article of Canadian Defence Quarterly.

Thanks..
I will look for an online version of the article... I contacted the Brockville Museum, they have invited me to view their collection on the OTC. They have newspaper clippings, old photos, as well as copies of a quarterly magazine called "The Blitz" that was put out by the OTC. Hopefully I get there in the next couple weeks, and have some lukc. Scott |
