Hi all,
A mate of mine asked if i could help ID these, what he believes to be spring compressors. He thought they might be for a bren carrier, but is not sure. I dont have a clue so am asking here as you guys are the best i know at ID'ing odd things! Details are: stamped TP 5635 and are approx 500mm long. http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data...m/IMG_8861.jpg http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data...m/IMG_8863.jpg http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data...m/IMG_8862.jpg Can anyone please ID them? He is happy to sell them also if anyone needs them (a fair price for each party were his words)- please send me a message with contact details and i shall get him to contact you. Cheers, Ian.

They look like coil spring compressers for compressing regular automotive coil springs or for joining the track on a carrier, to hold the two ends of the track together while re-inserting the track pin but I could just be guessing

Ian..
They are for replacing the rear springs on the Red 'Roo...LOL.. Actually I believe they are for carrier track joining to pull the track together to insert the track pin as Pwest said. ![]() ![]() ![]()

it says web pages cant be found for me...do the links work for anyone else guys ?
Richie EDIT: got it working..not sure what happened there.... i would be inclined to say they were spring compressers rather than track tools.....only due to the shape of the hooks though as in their present form i would say it would be a struggle to get them through the tracks...... of course they may have been modified to do springs... plus track tools tend to be a ratchet affair rather than the screw types.....but this is only on the few that i have seen......and as we all know i am often wrong hahahaha.

Hi Ian, They are not carrier spring compressors, at least not the Australian type,we use a threaded type and they do a great job, regarding compressing the track to insert the pin there is no need to do this as the track winch pulls the pieces of track together the ends that need to be joined are quite loose and its very easy to flex these two end up and down by hand and its just easy to slip in the pin
