Default Hard Plastic blocks for machine shop use

I am looking for a source for hard plastic blocks or nylon suitable for machine shop use in lathe/milling operations. I have a few radio related accessories to make that require insulated parts for an antenna base for a MIL manpack portable radio (PRC-174).

A source in the Ottawa Valley area would be appreciated.

Cheers!
Stuart

There are more options in "plastic" these days, than there are in steel. It will be easy to find.

UHMW and other materials were available from CANUS plastics.

Lee Valley also sell variety of materials, also try Busy Bee off St Laurent

I would let your fingers do the dialling before visiting.

Default Plastic for machining

..........I use a lot of Delrin for the manufacture of plugs.... I get my stock from G. E. Plastics in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Another source might be a restaurent supply house. If they have an old kitchen counter top.....made of nylon or other HMW plastic, you can cut a lot of material out of a a .75 in thick counter....

Default plastic

There is a plastics supply business in downtown Otter-wa (south side of the street, first block east of Bank, one or two blocks south of the backdoors of Esplanade Laurier). I bought some pieces of KYDEX there to play at to make rifle cheekrests.

My second and more pricey suggestion is Lee Valley Tools. You might not find big pieces there.

How about one of the machine tool retailers, like Busy Bee? Or do they only sell tools, not materials?

Terry,
I'm almost 100% sure you are describing Canus Plastics, and they seem to have moved to 3030 Conroy Road (Unit 107) - their web site is
