When fitting new tyres to CMP with split rims, should the tyres be fitted along with rust bands?
The CMP Chevrolet Pacific Fire Engine at the Australian Army Museum of Military Engineering, Moorebank has acquired 4 new tyres off some sort of RAAF trailer which had banded rims without rust bands. I'm a little worried the tube could run the risk of being pinched between the two halves of the CMP split rims. Any experts out there? Diana Last edited by Dianaa; 10-05-11 at 05:41. |

You have to use liners on any split rim.
