The engine with the top distributor is a post war change over, so that does not help date the truck. The Ford on the cowl came out in about 43.

If you still have the tow hitch on the back, look behind it onto the spring. There is a date usually stamped there.

A rough guide to figuring out the date:
Cab 13: no ford script: holes on end of bumpers for reflectors, no Ford script on cowl, Ford commercial gauges = 1942
Cab 13: No holes on bumper for reflector, Ford script, Ford commercial gauges = 1943
Cab 13: No holes on bumper, no script, round gauges= 1944 or 45.

These are rough estimates only. If you check the frame by your rear right suspension, you may find the serial number stamped there.

Here's a post I put up a few years ago.
I tool a few pix of the cab 13s I got home. This one has FORD embossed under the headlights. It has the old dash, a square roof hatch, and no lifting flanges on the hubs. If the FORD script makes it a 1944 model, do these other features fit?
And here's the reply I got from Keith Webb.
All the features fit and the 'FORD' script makes it a 1943 model. The 1944/5 models had 'FORD CANADA'
By this I'd say it's early 44 if it has the rectangular gauge panel and later 44 or 45 if it has round gauges.
Look on the top of the bellhousing and you'll find a serial number. If it's the original tranny that's the truck's serial number too. I've also seen a serial number on top of the frame by the front motor mounts.
