In London, Ontario, the 'occupy' group shows no bias. Yes, they will disrupt the Remembrance Day ceremony for the First Hussars adjacent to their WW2 Sherman tank 'Holly Roller', but the occupy folks also got in the way of a ceremonial tree lighting in honour of women's rights.

Aside, I know relatives of three of the London occupiers. One is an 18 year old self declared 'free man' to whom laws don't apply. He wants to build a wood hut (here) and move it to some forest up north to live. Another is a 25 year single mother of three with a criminal record. Her kids aren't at the protest so I don't quite know how that's working. The last is a 17 year old, unemployed high school dropout living in her dad's basement. She's between treatments for her drug addiction.

The funniest thing I heard was that in Toronto, 'street people' were joining the occupy camp-out. Nice hot meals, company, new tents and a port-a-potty to use instead of a sidewalk. It turns out the 'real' protesters (the ones that sneak home after dark and return in the morning) are upset. They don't like these people consuming their resources without 'working' at protesting. Maybe there's hope for them yet.

News reports of drug overdoses and physical and sexual assaults within the Occupy campgrounds make me glad that I am one of the 1%.
They remind me of the squatters in Ottawa about 8 years ago. After several weeks of occupying an empty house in the name of the local homeless it turned out that not one of the squatters could claim "no fixed address" on their arrest form.

Default Maple Ridge

I Have not Heard any More about the Occupy peaple. They Had posted on their Facebook what they Had Planned to do But once one of their Members reminded them of the Media being on their Page. Many of the posts where deleted.
They have also posted alot about Canadas involvement in the War in Iraq?
My 16 yr old Son Reminded them of the word AMERICAN in most of their Propoganda.
Some about the death of Civilian Women and Children . and one post from a Candidate for our local election (Liberal )last name rymes with SCAM. that it was O.K to Protest on the 11th.
An Election Month this yr.
Hopefully they remain respectfull and protest every other day but the 11th.
Jeff

In Vancouver they called in the fire department to remove the sacred burn barrel. Some occupiers (or OWS as they are being called, as in we OWS them a living, or occupy Wall St. or something) wept over the few ashes left behind. Others shrieked hysterically at the police escorting the firefighters. Two police officers suffered bite wounds. You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.
