Default Istanbul to Normandy MkII

There have been a lot of requests to repeat the 2009 Normandy trip for the 70th D-Day Anniversary in 2014.

We have decided to do another one if there is sufficient interest (which it seems there is) 1 May 2014 leave Istanbul after shipping or driving vehicles in. 10 June 2014 leave Zeebrugge, Belgium to ship home, sell vehicles or go to Beltring or elsewhere..

We will be doing all the same must-do's (ANZAC Cove, Crete, Greece and WW1 battlefields but this time we will drive up the fabulous Adriatic coast through Albania, Croatia and Slovenia to take in Venice before Switzerland)

We think 10 vehicles might be enough this time. Contact me, lang at st.net.au for more info so I can see if there is sufficient interest. UK, USA, Canadian and anyone else is welcome to join us as we will be covering their battlefields as well as the ANZAC ones.

Looks like it is on. 9 "certain" starters two years out! Most are members of the 2009 trip.

Still taking names as a lot can happen in two years.

Default Hello from Greece.

Hi Lang,

Please take for granted our own presence and participation to that event, and Im talking on behalf of the "S.D.I.O. MVC", the Military Vehicle Club of Athens.

We will provide you EVERY assistance during the entire route in mainland Greece and Crete. We are at your side.

Kostas.

Kostas,

Thanks for that. We did meet up with a couple of your members on the last trip.

Our possible Greek route could be.

Turkish Border - Alexandroupolis
Alexandroupolis - Thassos
Thassos - Mount Olympus Area
Mount Olympus - Volos
Volos - Athens
Athens overnight ferry- Crete (4 days)
Crete overnight ferry - Athens then Patra
Patra - Albanian Border

If you have some ideas for a better route let me know.

Lang
