It is true, the event is now named The War and Peace Revival and will be held on the Folkestone Racecourse, which is just off Junction 11 of the M20, halfway between Ashford and Folkestone.
For full details check out the new website;
www.thewarandpeacerevival.co.uk

Received the Christmas card and new entry form from Rex and the Team today.

Bill,
Those of us who have entered before are on a mailing list and receive the card. The entry form is on the new website to download.
As for the new location, the distance for some of us is a little closer , but if an event is worth going to, another 30 minutes drive is more than worthwhile, especially as the site is right near a motorway junction now.

being an avid brick layer my mind began to ponder and i had to ask myself the question if the move had anything to do with the recent bad press involving a certain reenactment group of the SS variety

http://www.sipa.com/en/feature/2483436/page/1

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonli..._hop_farm.aspx

the press got their teeth well into it and the Hop Farm lot were put under some pressure over the incident

Richard,
As a "bricklayer", you have grasped the wrong end of the trowel. The incident you mentioned happened a couple of weeks ago. Planning for the new show has been taking place over some months, this sort of thing takes a lot of time to put together.

Bill,
The entry form is on the website www.thewarandpeacerevival.co.uk and entries have to be in by the end of June. All the info you need is on that site.

The possible alternatives for the Hop Farm must have been a discussion point going years and years back. I remember when London was nominated to host the Olympic Games, speculations were going on about the Hop Farm being turned into an olympic village. That must have given Rex's team some food for thought.

I have booked in during the show before now with a vehicle but as this is a new show with the old participants managing it I would think about booking in before hand this year just to be on the safe side.
