I haven't removed the cab from my rusted chassis yet, but I think it's wise to replace the wooden blocks used to support the cab in due time. I was just wondering if anyone every made a sketch of the blocks and measurments so I can work ahead. Phil maybe? Jaap?

Hi Alex
Pretty sure I saved mine as patterns when I replaced them, I will look for them in the barn loft. May have drawing but haven't found it yet, computer is looking for it now. Though I do have the drawings for the wooden blocks that go under the seats. Cheers Phil

Hi Alex
I've upload some high resolution pictures of the Pattern 12 wood spacers from my 1941 Pattern 12 C60L to http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/M...0Up%20Link.htm please note these are fairly large photo files so they may take a time to open. If this is missing a detail you need please let me know. Here also is the drawing for the wood blocks from under the seats. The passenger side uses 1 1" thick spacer the under each seat rail and drivers side uses 2 2" under each rail. Cheers Phil

Now have access to my wooden floor spacers.
Measurements from Phil are almost identical to the one I reproduced. I used white ash....oak would be good also. Wood should be painted with thinned out oil paint..... two coats...... make sure to get paint in the wood fibers of the drilled holes..... these holes tend to hold water/humidity and greatly contribute to thebolts rusting and the wood to decay. great work your doing on the truck. on my truck there where 3 planks of about 2cm thick and 6cm wide under the floor, so I used the old ones as template. they had the same lenght as the floorplate, I mean from front footbord to first cross member (just before end of the plate backside) and then across the width of the chassis so you have a U shape of wood. there where no blocks on mine. sorry I don't have the old ones anymore, they where to bad. (see my thread, No 100) hoop this help a bit. cheers jaap

Stew, Phil, Bob, Jaap,
Thanks for your replies. Phil, terrific! Thanks so much for the measurements and Jaap and Bob for the extra tips and comments. I had some hardwood in the garage, but the wrong size as always, so I will search for some nice oak or ash in the next few weeks. By the way, were these wooden spacers clamped between the floor and chassis? I mean with bolts going through and through or are the blocks secured to the chassis with the floor than bolted on top? Alex

My C8 just had one piece under each seat rail. Somebody probably added the extras to adjust the seat height.

Here is the setup of the seats in my truck; two thickness blocks under the drivers seat, plate under codrivers seat.....have to see if there are any remains of woodwork under the codrivers seat apart from the plate.
