Malcolm,

Welcome to MLU! We have some very gifted modellers around here.
What models are you working on? Out of the box, scratchbuild?

Regards,
Hanno

Default CMPs are addictive

Hi Malcolm

Welcome to the world of CMPs and other Commonwealth Military Vehicles but you should be warned CMPs are addictive. Once you start you may not be able to stop. Starting on CMPs at 1 to 72 scale, then 35th scale, may lead to the where many of us are 1 to 1 scale. Though if you get to that level you won't be able to work on them on the table anymore.

Interest among modelers is great for us with the full size thing as it has increased the number and variations of CMPs kits and components to pick from when we go to build a desk model of our trucks.

Exploring the different threads on MLU you will find a wealth of information particularly photographs.

Cheers Phil

Thanks for the welcome.

As for the models i am building some 1/24 Land Rovers at the moment.

On the CMP side i have converted an Italeri C15 to a desert C60 GS, another C15 to a No 12 cab version, still not happy with this one so it is undergoing some changes, a Chevy Gun Tractor, A Ford Quad open top version, i have an un-built C15 kit to do and have plans to do an armoured C60 as used in the Malayan Emergency.
Good news on the model front, an new Irish company are to produce plastic models of the CT15 Armd Carrier, The Otter and a No11 cab 15cwt and i would expect others in the range too, they have said that a range of C/F30`s is a possibility.

Regards

Malcolm

I love Land Rovers and keep telling myself that one day I will have a real one to play with.

Robin, to answer your question, yes.
I am looking for pictures of the radio fit in the back of the Series 3 Para Recce version for my current model project in 1/24 scale.
The kit radios do not resemble anything I recognise.

Regards

Malc.
