I ran across a reference to this vehicle this weekend and wondered if any have survived? From what I can tell it was a rear engined 4 x 4 looking not unlike the Indian Army WW2 design. The odd thing was that it was apparently designed by the Australians, but used only by the USAAF as an airfield defence vehicle. Armed with three machine guns, possssibly on skate rails. Make any sense to anyone?

F15 and as Keith said, one F15A version. There was possibly, just possibly, a C15A version as well.
Two survive: the one pictured, restored, In Qld and another, unrestored, in the Beck Collection. Don't know of any others. The restored one had an interesting story: picked up as a cab/chassis and cut away back. New owner was hunting bits and bobs on another property, and came across some armour pieces with cut edges kinda like the rough edges on his SC1. Got them home and bingo! they fitted like a glove: they did indeed, make up the missing armour!! They had 'migrated' between properties many years before. Mike |

Very interesting vehicle. Good to know they can still be seen and appreciated. Perhaps a few more will turn up over time.
