I have been asked to seek info on a shell casing that has been turned into a piece of artwork, supposedly by a WWW1 German POW near Belgium. It was given by him to an Australian Nurse in or near that location.
The shell end has the following info: "75 DF", and nearby a large 'L' with a small 'n' underlined. Also, shows "A-RS-L1126-16". Alas, my new compact digital camera takes only at 16meg, and I an yet to workout how to reduce the images before posting. Is it possible to identify what make of shell, etc, it is. I will persevere in uploading some 'shrunk-ed' images. Thanks Bruce Gilbert Gloucester, NSW, Aust. Currently 36.6C and 12% humidity. I can smell the smoke. |
