I am working on a small 'essay' on the second CMD in Citroen Cars' Slough depot. I have heard from Ken Smih who worked from 1942 and he has come up with a plausible chain of events in 1940. He confirms that the Canadian camp was 'Haymill' since it was in the Haymill area of Burnham.
Can anyone advise if they would be interested in a small book? Also I cannot find the AA gun allocations in Slough that were posted a while back. Can anyone direct me to the thread please? |

It looks like that information has vanished, I'll dig it up and repost it here. Cheers ![]()

Hi David;
This is what I dug up regarding the AA gun allocation for Slough (June to September, 1940): Slough was within the area of responsibility of 1st Anti-Aircraft Division, A.A. Command Gun State of 1st AA Div as of 5 June 1940: HAA guns: 48x 4.5 inch 39x 3.7 inch 26x 3 inch LAA guns: 3x 3 inch 19x 40mm 3x Twin Vickers Searchlights: 240x 90cm There are no figures available for LAA guns or SLs for Slough, but the gun state of HAA guns was the following: - on 11 Jul 40 = 28 guns - on 21 Aug 40 = 28 guns - on 11 Sep 40 = 28 guns - on 30 Sep 40 = 36 guns divided between Slough, Langley, Weybridge Hope this helps. ..for that Mark! It is abundently clear now that the Canadian Mechanization HQ ex-Ford men in London had their heads well and truly screwed-on. They anticipated events and also strived to secure overload facilities for production when it became clear that Southampton + Dagemham could not cope, exacerbated by the placing of the British S/M 2002 and on Demands for Fords and Chevrolets.
