Anyone have a source for military looking whipping twine. Working on the details of one of my bell tents. Cheers Rob

Rob: Are you talking about the hemp type rope as used from the tent to the pegs? I think I have a bunch hiding out in the shed.
Never mind, I googled it and it would appear to be the twine you would use to wrap the end of the ropes so they don't fray. It would also appear that marine shops have the stuff for sailboats and general lashing (oh those sailors). |

The pic of this bell tent I just got is very white or pale as compared to other bells I own. 1942 dated, a very nice strong, correct tent in all aspects. Paid too much! Cheers Rob

I've used butchers twine to do the same thing.
