Hello
I am ending my FORD F60L and I am looking for new tires. I have found a shop in GERMANY which sold tires 1100X20 with NATO shape. Is any body having soon mounted such tires on a F60L? Thank for any answer Regards Serge |

Hello Serge,
20-inch tyres with the NATO tread pattern are often used on CMP trucks, see the picture of one for sale in Holland. Personally I think they are perfectly acceptable as they are better than 70 year old tyres. You could also check out other types available at www.vrakking-tires.com (no connections), they have a wide variety of 20-inch tyres in stock. Regards, Hanno

Hello gentleman,
I have a question regarding those tires (NATO 11.00-20). Is anybody able to measure the outer diameter when the tire is attached to the disk? (or NATO 10.50-20) Or maybe a better question - what was the original CMP 11.00-20 (or 10.50-20) outer diameter please? Thank you! |

Martin,
There was significant variation in the dimensions of the tires produced by the various manufacturers during the war. The attached image is from Page 88 of Volume iV - Self propelled M.T. Chassis, Design Record, Canadian-Developed Military Vehicles World War II. Colin |
