Default Canadian Winter Coat ID help

My father gave me this wool-lined heavy winter coat, and I would like to know any details possible such as: what it was called, who used these coats, intended purpose (design), etc.
The coat is dated 1952, Dominion Garment Company (which I think was located in Guelph), and has a stylized broad arrow stamp. It is wool-lined and very long (Im 6'2", and it extends lower than my knees).
Thanks!
