Just a reminder of the OMVA Summer Show and Swap Meet to be held 8 days from now at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada Airport south field. Open to vendors at 7am, OMVA/Ferret Club members at 8am and the general public at 9am. May 28/05 only.

From hwy.#401 exit to Park Road north in Oshawa. Left at the "T" intersection with Rossland Road, right at the second set of traffic lights, Stevenson Road north, into the airport south field.

Also a reminder that the club will convoy south to join with the Camp X Summer Show on the shores of Lake Ontario at 3pm sharp.

Default OMVA Summer Show If It Rains ...

... the show goes on but the beer tent will be more poular. Yes, vendors tables will be set up inside the museum main building for rain protection. Not that any worthy OMVA member would melt because of a little rain but rather to protect the merchandice.

Default Oshawa OMVA Show

So, who's got an after action report on anything interesting that might have either happened or showed up?

Has the re-location happened? Still enough room for parking and display?

Most importantly, was the beer tent suitably placed?

Default CampX

Jon,

I slipped into the show to pay my membership very early in the morning, so I missed almost everybody and everything. Except Mr. Dabkowski, of course at the gate - so I am paid up for another year.

My Carrier was at CampX where I got to see a whole new crop of veterans - mostly RCAF and Signals folks - and you know how they can get. Lots of different stories than I usually get from the armour and infantry guys who frequent the "MV" shows. Plenty of stories of Carrier sightings many years ago on this continent and closer to Europe.

The Jifferoo and  came by to check things out, as did a couple of MVs from the OMVA show. The weather threatned rain all day, but I only got a sprinkle when I was unloading the trailer back in Beachville.

Charlie Fitton has thrown a new wrinkle into the CC4 weekend that I will have to touch base with you before too long.

And yeah, I have some tidbits for Jordan, so he better work some overtime and brace himslef for his next trip 'out into the woods'.

Default Taxi ...

Hi,

The last sight that the Jifferoo, and too, saw of Stewart Loy and his carrier was of it driving along the grass at CAMP X, stopping and starting, sometimes just slowing, as kids and grownups galloped up to it and climbed over the sides for a ride ... how many ended up in there at once Stewart? It looked overloaded!!!

I was tempted to do that as well but my swollen ankle (arthritis) wouldn't let me walk easily, let alone run ... but I can't be greedy ... I've already had the mpost amazing ride in my life in it in Ottawa.

Good to chat with Stewart, Charlie Fitton, Bob Carriere, Chris Vickery ... and and and I have to recall who else ... loved seeing all the vehicles and hearing something about them, talking to some Vets, bought a cap and two pens, lost then found Jifferoo's cap, enjoyed checking some of the tables and displays at both places .... on the whole, I enjoyed the whole day and everything and everyone, except for the "too-hot" hotdogs that made people break out in sweats and breath fire.

The Midget is happy to have her ratty old soft sweater back

(oops ... didn't take pictures ... saving up for CC4 end of June and will take some good shots of Master Fitton's vehicle just for him )

Karmen
