Hi Rob,
As per my oil loss/burning on a low mileage rebuilt engine brought up many posts ago, I again took apart my lower fording valve to make sure that it was in fact in the open position....it was. Concurrently, I again opened up the PCV valve and although it was clean it was full of motor oil as was the rest of the plumbing in the fording valve. Would this be the cause of the oil burning....oil coming from behind the valve cover? I did notice a PCV valve ventilator baffle on certain parts websites but this part is not in the 67' M38A1 shop manual PCV-valve cover-fording valve diagram. What does this part actually do? If I purchased this part, would it not slow down the oil that is getting into the fording/PCV valve? Your comments would be much appreciated. les |

Silly to ask - but are the oil drains from the tappets down to the sump all clear?
