Hey All,
I know most probably know of this page, but I happened across it while crawling thru the web one day. http://www.stovebolt.com/helpme.htm It's a page dedicated to chev engines, but it's tech tips page (which I copied along) has some great general engine tips too. Everything from broken engine bolt removal, rust removal techniques, painting... yadda yadda. Great tips on that site for sure, hope those that haven't found it do now and like it! Oh, and on another note, might I make a suggestion to the moderator for a guideline for this forum. It would be VERY helpful for navigation in this forum definatly to have explicit message titles. An example is the thread about rust removal...great, GREAT discussion, but the title of the thread doesn't address the subject, other than saying it's a restoration tip. I know the thread was moved etc, it just might be an idea to keep things a little clearer and easier to find exact tips. Just a thought..... Tim |

This site is absolutely fantastic. While I'm not exactly a Chev guy, anyone who is would greatly benefit from some tips found here.
Many of my buds are chev guys and I'll recommend it. I have be considering a chev Cmp, Maybe a mill with more umph might be in order? Don't shoot me guys, I know it's not original but when's the last time you saw a cmp go more than 45mph? Does anyone know of a similar site for us Ford guys? |

A word of caution in exceeding 45mph, the words of Ernie come to mind
"But strange things happened on their wedding night As they lay in their bed" and so to with a CMP. We regularly had to negotiate a long downhill run, and apart from the vibrations, which I assume had a lot to do with the "fight in the drive train" such things as wheel nuts coming loose, oil leaking, no flowing from gearboxes and diffs, and on the 4x2 the bearing in the 1st motion shaft regularly giving up the ghost, it was decided that in the interests of safety 45mph was a good speed!!!
