Canadian C5 Charging Switchboard

I want to repair the Bakelite covers on the “cooker switches” fitted to the C5 Charging Switchboard.

Probably a very stupid question but I will ask it nevertheless.....How do you remove the ceramic knobs to allow the Bakelite covers to be removed?

[Bruce Parker (RIP)]

Lift the white knob up against the spring and unscrew counterclockwise. Install in reverse and when they stop turning and start clicking you've gone far enough.
