Default Carrier Carb

Hello to you all,

Can anyone identify this carburettor that’s fitted to my Mk1* Carrier? I don’t think it’s an original as it has ‘Ford USA’ on it and no sign of a governor.

Thanks

Tom

Mac's has all the parts for these, including just the piston as well as minor rebuild kits.

I am running a truck carb on mine currently. It was not a problem adapting the carrier air cleaner tubing to the carb. I do have the original carrier carb, but as the old saying goes, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

hello Tom,

it is a "normal" type 94 Ford carburator. It is the same type used as on Ford CMP trucks. This one is not a real truck one because the top were you put your aircleaner on is a little bit different. but it will do the job

gr Rob

Thank you Rob & Rob,

I will leave it as is then, it works which is the main thing. Good to know that there kits available for it as well as I think the injection pump may be failing as the engine tends to falter if the throttle is opened wide quickly.
