Default Wc51

The State Electricity Commission in Victoria had a few of those Dodges for Linemans trucks. The cab was aluminum and whoever made them did an excellent job.

Yes, and the Victorian Railways and Snowy Mountains Authority had a few as well. Some of the Australian WC 51s were post war imports from Europe.

Ford GPW 159796 was not officially Written Off/disposed of until 1965 ! 2/6/65 Would this be the last WW2 Jeep to be W/O ?

The unit sign on the W/screen looks like a derivation of the Maltese cross. The jeep has what looks like a AMF number plate. There is a handrail for the dignitary: Who is that chap in gold braid. The QLD Gov. , Sir Henry Smith .

Also, note the early 'tombstone' type BO driving light guard . The tyres appear to have been painted white. The windscreen has a odd upright appearance

Maltese cross and QLD
