Default Linoleum

Checkerplate thread turned into a linoleum thread so I thought Id' continue the topic anew:

Here's an online art supplies place that sells battleship linoleum by the roll:

Sizes versus prices don't seem to bee too convenient for our purposes, however.

Another linoleum site - grey only, again sizes and prices are problematical

Default Found a source

I went by Bill Knight Flooring in Winnipeg and asked a very helpful guy there called Doug Ross about "battleship linoleum" and he said there was indeed "Marmoleum" that filled the bill, and showed me sample pieces in grey and brown - which he let me get away with.

The material is made by Forbo linoleum Inc., in their "Walton" line, the brown is #167, the grey is #173. He said it comes in 6-foot wide rolls, and any length can be ordered, with next-day delivery from the distributor in Wpg. He said while the "battleship" is chiefly a commercial line they are trying to move it to the domestic market, so it is readily available. Price runs about $4.00 a square foot.

Here is the maker's site: www.themarmoleumstore.com
See also www.ForboLinoleumNA.com

I'll post pics of the samples later.

Default Another link

At the Forbo site, follow the links Commercial/Linoleum Sheet/Walton, to see the colour chips online and get specs on the material.

Default Marmoleum "Walton" samples

Here are the samples I have. The colours at the Forbo site are darker on my CRT screen at work, lighter on my LCD screen at home. No. 173 is the darker of the grey shades. No. 167 looks a little pinker and lighter on screen at home than the sample I have, which is more like a terra-cotta.
