Here are a couple of the pics I took last Saturday morning of Matt Denning in his superb Boomerang aircraft - our indigenous fighter which he restored over a 27 year period.
Don't think I need to include the S.E.G. pic - you can imagine the smile on my face... ![]() ![]() The aircraft was derived from the Wirraway which was derived from the NA-16, the progenitor of the Harvard. One of the differences is the 1400 Horsepower engine as opposed to the Wirraway and Harvard's 600. The four gunports make a fabulous whistling screaming sound... the Japanese called them the "whistling death". (The Beaufighter was the "whispering death" due to the very quiet sleeve valve engines). It was an awesome experience looking at this just metres away off our wingtip. I was shooting widescreen broadcast video as well.
