I have recently got back into restoring my blitz - a long time between drinks - I would be interested to know what my blitz was set up for during it's service period. It's ARN is 73539.

Thankyou for the page.
I am trying to work out if the tray that is fitted to it ( & has been fitted for a long time) is the original. It resembles a lend- lease style tray but modified to carry a generator & search light. I see chev still has it's original motor - I would hope so - it has only done 7000 odd miles since it was built way back in '42. Regards Rob. |

Looks like it has rounded corners and stake sides? If so, it is not the original Office body.
But I notice it does have the bracket on the driver's side cab for the 2 gallon fire extinguisher, which was not part of the VOL during the Second World War. Since these seem to be coming 'thick and fast' on 3 ton CMPs at the moment, I wonder if this was a post-war military fit? Mike |

Thanks Mike,
The fire extinguisher could have been a post war fit, maybe while still in military service - the bracket looks to be original as I have not touched the paint, although the paint is peeling the camo is still quite intact. There are also two of the smaller fire extinguishers inside the cab, one in the passengers footwell & one behind the drivers right shoulder - these too have always been there. Cheers Rob. |
