Question Ok..what Is It?

I GOT THIS ONE HOME A DAY OR TWO AGO.
ENGINE IS MISSING AND NO TAGS OR NUMBERS ARE VISIBLE.
THE WINDSHIELD HAS BEEN CUT AND MOVED(EASY FIX)
TIRES ARE 10.50-20.
IT LOOKS A LOT WORSE THAN IT IS.MOSTLY PEELING PAINT AND PINE NEEDLE SCUM.
IT HAS THE RECTANGULAR SPEEDO

The wind screen appears to tip back like the 11 and 12 cab instead of forward as the 13 cab should. A better side photo of the upper cab would be interesting to see.

Default What is it?

Agree with Cliff, it's an F60L, early-mid production. (The F30 version would have been on 10.50x16 tyres/rims and would be short wheelbase).
Worthwhile project all the same, keep us posted with updates

....on the new baby........ don't worry it will keep you awake at night.

Have you measured the wheel base....centre hub to centre hub??

How about a picture of the rear end...... hitch still there...any odd rollers......

On a wild guess..... could the dinshield pillars been bent back to accommodate a Dodge M 37 green top????

I take it no data plate left on the top of the dash......

..and one final comment...... I was under the impression that all rectangular civvy dashes ended sometimes in 42 or 43....??? comments any one.....

What about the rest of the power train....engine.... tranny...rad....

Is it in your backyard yet????

FIRST,THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR TAKING AN INTEREST.
THE WINDSHIELD POST HAS BEEN CUT AND TILTED BACKWARDS,THEN SPOTWELDED.NO MAJOR DESTRUCTION.
I THINK IT IS A CAB 13.I DIDNT GET OFF WORK UNTIL AFTER SUNSET,OTHERWISE I'D HAVE SOME MORE PICS FOR U ALL.
AND YES NO TAG.
YEAH IT'S AT THE SHOP NOW.
ENGINE IS MISSING,TRANS AND ALL THE REST IS THERE.
NO WINCH,AND FROM WHAT I'VE BEEN ABLE TO SEE SO FAR,NO COMPRESSOR.
CENTER LINE SPLIT TYPE DIFFS.
MORE PICS WHEN I CAN GET TO IT IN THE LIGHT.THE ONES I HAVE NOW ARE TOO BIG TO UPLOAD.

Default Compressor

Hi Duuane

Yes, it's definitely a cab 13.

The compressor, or air pump should eb easy to see mounted on the driver's side of the gearbox. When not fitted there is a blanking plate instead.

The easy way to judge the wheelbase is to see whether the tailshaft is in one piece (134 1/4") or two piece (158 1/4").

Looks like the 400 steering box which is the heavy one, which will mean 6" steering ends.

The first set of pictures looked like pictures taken at the "Mid-night auto yard".... you know the ones like I use to take after jumping the fence when the owner was gone to bed.....hahaha.

Looking forward to some daylight pictures from this coming weekend.

By all accounts it sounds like a big Ford 60.... toooooo bad it is not a Cheby....

Good now we can see somethin' ........

I still think the roof is from a M 37 or M35..... or M something.

Now with a hard black rubber steering wheel and an early rectangular civvy dash it should be an early Ford....... of course parts may have been changed over the years.......

Comments from the ex-spurts please...... still a good find. You will need to connect with the other guys on the West coast for parts......

OK, definitely a F60L cab 13 - standard Ford roof, just looks funny because of the reversed windscreen. It fits too neatly around the cab to be anything else... also the brow is correct for a CMP.
A comment about posting multiple pictures - you can't. The only way to do it is if you have them hosted on another site, rather than loading them directly.
Dash is consistent with 42 to early 44, Ford steering wheels were always black hard rubber unlike the Chevs which went to wood around 43.
Bit of tin-worm there to deal with!

Default Windscreen

The windscreen has an internal bracket inside the pillar that should bolt in place (but is often welded) that then slots down into the part where the door hinges bolt on, which should also be bolted in place but is often welded. I'm just wondering if your reverse slope windscreen angle conversion was done simply by swapping these brackets from left to right? This would be straight forward to correct, unless there's lots of weld present.

Default a road trip....

A trip down under is in the plans for sure,i'm in the redi-mix concrete industry and was considering working 6 months here,the other 6 there.
hehe watch their faces when they find cmp parts in my luggage at the airport......8-o
i think the only sheetmetal i'll need to buy is the pannels that house the headlights,the inner fenders,and some doors.the rest can be repaired or made from sheet.
i really like the idea of some canvas doors.
so whats the popular opinion of the flathead ford for this application?is it worth the dollars to find and build one?
i have three 3-53 detroits to choose from here that would almost snap in there like it was home. last darn near forever too.
yes i know the're loud as n/a's but with a turbo and a decent muffler it's almost music to me.
i'm sorry if that horrifies some of you,but my intention is to USE this truck,and i dont like being left high and dry.
95 hp sounds a little rough for hauling a load too.
rear end gears are 7.2:1 right?

Default Flathead Ford

My opinion is if this is the only CMP you're going to own then one of the most charming things about the breed is the melodious sound of the engine and gears in low range - sheer music which only sounds right with the original drive train.
As for power - a car-size engine in a heavy truck is never going to break speed records, but I've lived with this for many years, along wiith the joy and pain of 6 volt electrics - none of this is practical for an everyday driver but that's not what it's about for me.
Having said that, because we (Euan and I) have so many CMPs between us there is no compunction taking a F15 and putting a Windsor with C4 in it. Likewise, Euan's CGT came with a Mexican Chev mated to the original gearbox which gives it good performance; he still has an original C15A with the stovebolt.
My FGT will be as original as I can make it - the only possible change may be to 12v so I can see at night...

Default Transfer Casing marks?

Duuane, are there any marks, stamped or cast in, to the Transfer Case please? For example 'GM' in a square, and a numner or 'FORD'? Thanks.

Something else has been worrying me about the pic of the front of your truck: the positioning of the headlights seems to be too low.
