			Hi guys

Maybe alittle off topic but I was wondering if anyone can confirm this is a PIAT firing pin and mechanism. about 13 inches long with the two smaller tubes telescoping into the bigger one on a rathe weak spring. Fixed firing pin with it's base screwing into the bigger tube. Looks like the end of the smallest tune (cylinder) has a groove for a sur-clip. Found in a 50's era barracks box donated to the 8th Canadian Hussars Museum and we can ID it. Any help appreciated. regards Darrell |

			Hi Peter

And you are 100% correct. I sent the pics to a buddy of mine who put them up on gunnutz.com and the answer came back as "firing-pin/recoil-spring assembly for an MP-38/40". Good eye. The Museum fellas will be glad to hear that. We had a long and varied conversation about this item on Friday and ended up having no idea!! regards Darrell *Geoff, please feel free to delete my off topic posts as it's clear it has nothing to do with a PIAT.* |
